23.7 - The Joker


This workout will consist of three one rep max lifts with each athlete selecting one lift to perform during the workout.


ALL DIVISIONS

Working to a one rep max, each athlete from a team will perform one of the following lifts.

  • back squat (1 athlete)

  • front squat (1 athlete)

  • deadlift (1 athlete)

GENERAL NOTES

  • Each team will have one barbell to share among their athletes. Weight may be taken on and off the bar as desired. 

  • All lifts must be performed on the platforms. 

  • Athletes must declare the weight to be lifted PRIOR to touching the barbell. 

  • Athletes must wait for notification of a completed lift from their judge before dropping the barbell or returning the barbell to the rack. 

  • There is a 20 minute window to complete the one rep max lifts.  

  • A successful lift will be counted if it begins prior to the 20 minute window ending. 

  • The score for this workout is total weight lifted. 

  • This workout is scheduled for Sunday.


BACK SQUAT STANDARDS

  • A back squat attempt begins when the athlete begins to descend into the squat. 

  • A successful lift begins and ends with the athlete standing with hips and knees at full extension after passing through a squat with hip crease below the knee.


FRONT SQUAT STANDARDS

  • A front squat attempt begins when the athlete begins to descend into the squat. 

  • A successful lift begins and ends with the athlete standing with hips and knees at full extension after passing through a squat with hip crease below the knee while holding the bar in the front rack position throughout the entire lift. 


DEADLIFT STANDARDS

● A successful lift begins with the bar on the ground and ends with the athlete holding the

bar with the hips and knees at full extension and the head and shoulders behind the bar.

● Sumo deadlifts are not permitted. Arms must be outside the legs during the deadlift.
